It's that time of year when you may be brainstorming gifts for the holiday season and you may be considering giving someone a four-legged friend. However pets can be less-than-perfect presents and also come with a lifetime of costs.

Dr. Steven Metz of Avian and Exotics of Vermont explains why in the video of this week's 'Everything Animals.'
