Viewer Derek Maroot of Northeast Kingdom Weather sent us video showing the force of the wind in the Appalachian Gap Wednesday.
Maroot wrote:
"With a High Wind Warning for the western portion of the Green Mountains and reported 88 mph winds at Mt. Mansfield, we decided to head up to the Ap-Gap on Route 17 to see the winds for ourselves. At the summit, we estimated the winds to be well above Hurricane force.
(Here) is a short clip of me trying to lean into the ...wind! We also saw many trees across the roads, power lines down, and a few up rooted trees here and there."
