This is a great, beautiful, fragrant herb garden. There are some great new varieties here and great combinations that will make herbs look beautiful in your landscape. This is a variegated basil. If you're making pesto, usually it turns brown and doesn't look good if you leave it out in the air uncovered. However, if you use variegated basil, it won't turn brown! It will stay a nice vivid green color. This variegated basil is called 'Pesto Perpetuo.'
There are other compact versions of herbs, like this compact oregano called 'Short and Sassy.' It's a really nice one to have and looks nice when you combine it with prostrate rosemary. It cascades down the side of your little container. And then there are mints! There are different kinds of mints, such as 'Mojito Cocktail' mint, 'Pineapple' mint, and 'Basil' mint.
Now speaking of beautiful things in the garden, here is a thyme tower! All of these are different kinds of thyme that are growing on this tower that is made out of wrought iron. They wrapped the chicken wire around the tower, filled it up with some soil, and then they just popped the little thyme plants into the holes in the chicken wire. It has beautiful colors and textures. To maintain it all you have to do is put the hose on the top of the tower and just let the water drizzle down and it will keep it nice and moist.
