The return of Vermont National Guard members from Korea has been delayed because of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
The 46 members of the air guard fighter wing have spent the last two months in South Korea as part of a peacekeeping mission.
They were slated to return over the weekend, but travel in the Far East has been disrupted by the catastrophe in Japan, so the guard members will probably not return until sometime next week.
"Right now we are still expecting to see one aircraft come in tomorrow afternoon with equipment and maybe a handful of airman that was already en route and the second aircraft we are expecting probably Tuesday. Everyone is safe and sound that is the most important message I want to get out," Vt. National Guard Lt. Col. Lloyd Goodrow said.
In early February 160 other air guard members returned home from the Korea mission.
