Lisa and Roy Haynes of Save Our Strays are no strangers to hard-luck animal stories, and right now there's a dog they're nursing back to health that certainly had a rough start.
Dexter, who's now looking for a new home, was being kept outside tied up in a vacant lot without shelter 24/7, and he was barely fed at all. He weighed about 32 lbs. when he was rescued when he should be 50 lbs. Dexter has had a complete medical check-up, including blood work, and is in excellent health despite being emaciated. Now the 3-year-old dog is looking for his forever home.
Learn more about Dexter and another pup searching for a family in this week's 'Everything Animals.'
