Burlington, Vermont - May 17, 2011

Despite the rain, Vermont's avian inhabitants are taking flight and celebrating spring. However you don't need wings to join this bird party!

Erin Talmage, executive director of the Birds of Vermont Museum in Huntington joined us on the Channel 3 Morning News to share some fun events coming up, give a peek behind the scenes at the museum and surprise our own Anson Tebbetts.

On Saturday, May 21, the museum is hosting a special 'Bird Day Celebration' from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit Audubon Vermont.

So how does the museum keep Vermont's birds on display year-round? It's thanks to the tireless work of Bob Spear, who's carved over 1,000 birds for the museum.

Check out his work by watching the interview.
