Calais, Vermont - May 21, 2011

The bugs were biting in central Vermont. But that was just fine in Adamant.

It was the 9th annual Black Fly Festival in the tiny village of Calais. Instead of swatting away this season organizers embrace the pesky insect. They hold a parade that passes by the Adamant Food Coop.

It is not a long parade but certainly loaded with character and charm.
