N.Y. seeks old Champlain Bridge memorabilia

Crown Point, New York - May 24, 2011

New York officials are seeking photographs and memorabilia from the old Champlain Bridge.

The Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation is trying to collect items pertaining to the bridge to use in future exhibits and interpretative displays commemorating the historic 1929 structure. The group is especially interested in photographs of toll collectors and repair and maintenance work being performed on the bridge.

The bridge was demolished in 2009 after it was deemed unsafe.
