Marathon director talks about the race

Burlington, Vermont – May 30, 2011

The Vermont City Marathon is on the books.

About 8-thousand runners participated in Vermont's signature running event.  Thirty six hundred were enrolled in the full marathon.  The rest ran the half-marathon or a leg of the relay.

It started out a soggy day.  The rain stopped about 40-minutes into the race.  But, then the heat and humidity settled in.  Despite all that, it was a pretty fast race.

Talking about all that and more is Executive Director of the Vermont City Marathon Peter Delaney.

This was Delaney's second year as executive director. He faced a lot of challenges.  Lake flooding changed part of the course, then on race day, weather conditions were a concern.
