Wacky worm sister talks about composting

Burlington, Vermont – June 1, 2011

Lynette Courtney is affectionately know as one of the Wacky Worm Sisters.  She owns Down to Earth Worm Farm in Greensboro Bend.

Vermi-composting is using worms to compost for you.   "They will eat your kitchen scraps and get rid of those," says Courtney.

"It's different than an outdoor compost because outdoor compost gets hot," she says and then cools down and then gets hot to break down," explained Courtney, but this method uses the digestive process of the worms to get the richly composted finished product.
