Burlington, Vermont - June 9, 2011
Earlier this week, the Vermont Health Department reported the state's first case of measles since 2001.
The highly contagious disease causes fever, cough and rash. It was largely eradicated decades ago by the measles vaccine. All children are required to get the MMR vaccine. But the disease has been popping back up in several states.
Dr. Harry Chen, the Vermont Health Commissioner, appeared on the Channel 3 News at 6 p.m. to talk more about the case. Watch the video of his live interview for more.
