Julie Perry
Plattsburgh, New York - June 10, 2011
Police say the office manager at a car dealership swindled more than a million dollars from her bosses.
Julie Perry of Altona, N.Y., was the office manager at Garvey Hyundai in Plattsburgh. Prosecutors say she forged documents and falsified records to steal cash and cars totaling $1.4 million from the dealership.
When she was first arrested in December, police suspected her of using forged checks from a local bank to purchase three cars and a truck from the dealership. But they say their investigation revealed a much broader scheme. Perry faces 25 counts, including grand larceny, forgery, falsifying business records and conspiracy.
Perry is free on $50,000 bail until her next court appearance in Aug. 2.
