Middlebury, Vermont - June 14, 2011
The brewers of Woodchuck cider are suing one of their former employees for allegedly stealing trade secrets.
Leonard Ciolek worked at Vermont Hard Cider Company in Middlebury for seven months. During that time, company officials say Ciolek stole recipes and then left to launch his own cider company called McKenzie's Cider.
According to the Rutland Herald the owners of Vermont Hard Cider want the court to force Ciolek to turn over personal files from his computer. They allege the New York man copied nutrition facts and ingredients directly from the Woodchuck label.
