MARSHFIELD, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police say a 67-year-old Marshfield woman was seriously injured in a U.S. Route 2 car crash with a vehicle that spun into her lane.
Tamsen Vanderllas, 67, was airlifted to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center following the 4:10 p.m. crash on Wednesday.
Police say Vanderllas's car T-boned a pickup truck that spun in front of her. After the crash her car caught fire and passers-by put out the fire and pulled her from the vehicle.
The other vehicle was driven by Ian Strong, 19, of Hardwick.
Police say Strong's vehicle went out of control as he headed west on Route 2.
Police say a preliminary alcohol screening found Strong's blood alcohol content was above the legal limit for driving. Charges are possible.
