The Vermont Supreme Court has decided that search warrants and police paperwork related to the missing Essex couple should remain secret, at least for now.
The high court granted the state prosecutor's emergency request to keep the documents sealed, pending full review by the court. Prosecutors say the temporary stay will preserve the integrity of the investigation. The state has until July 1 to file additional support for its motion.
This ruling comes after two lower court judges ruled the documents should be released.
Bill and Lorraine Currier mysteriously disappeared from their home on June 8. Police have released very few details about what may have happened to the couple.
