Frustrated Danville drivers invited to speak out

Danville, Vermont - June 28, 2011

Frustrated drivers in Danville are speaking out.

Millions of dollars in construction work on Route 2 is slowing them down. Motorists say traffic is at a complete standstill for a half hour or more at some points.

Representatives from the town of Danville, the Vermont Transportation Agency and the company running the project will hold a public meeting Thursday night.

"We know that the contract asks for only 10 minutes, we've been hearing that the waits have been much longer than that. When I get a lot of calls, when the secretary gets a lot of calls, we say, let's have a meeting, let's see what's happening," said Sue Minter of the Vt. Agency of Transportation.

The public meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday. It's taking place at the Danville town offices. Drivers, property owners, and area business people are encouraged to attend.
