Circus Smirkus kicks off summer big top season

Burlington, Vermont – July 29, 2011

Summertime is when the circus comes to town, but for some Vermont kids who love the big top, it's when they hit the road. Circus Smirkus was formed in 1987. The Greensboro-based circus has young participants ranging in age from 10 to 18.

Two of those kids are 17-year old Sonya Gurwitt of Norwich and 16-year old Noah Nielsen from Montpelier.

Noah is a juggler and Sonya is a contortionist. They appeared on The :30 to show us what they can do. And Mike McCune tried his hand at juggling, too. For more, watch the video from The :30.
