Woman escapes sinking car

Fairfax, Vermont - June 30, 2011

A woman escaped her sinking car after driving into the Lamoille River Thursday morning.

Authorities say she failed to make a sharp turn on the River Road in Fairfax and plunged into the deep water. The car was completely submerged.

The driver got out safely and made it to shore. Divers were brought in to attach tow lines so the car could be pulled out of the river.
