POWNAL, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police say a 16-year-old Pownal boy who ran away from a summer camp is facing charges after resisting police who went to find him in a Pownal home.
Police say they were called to the Alta Gardens mobile home park on Saturday after receiving a report that Branden Brooks was there.
Brooks, who is in state custody, attempted to flee when police arrive and resisted arrest. Police say he tipped a gun cabinet over, striking and injuring one of the troopers. Troopers needed a stun gun to subdue Brooks.
Brooks was found with stolen property. He is considered a suspect in multiple recent burglaries in Pownal.
One trooper suffered minor hand, wrist, and knee injuries.
Brooks was sent to the Woodside juvenile facility in Essex.
