Hot Air Balloon Festival takes off in Stowe

Stowe, Vermont - July 8, 2011

Stoweflake Mountain Resort and Spa is celebrating its 25-year-old Hot Air Balloon Festival and helping grant an 8-year-old Ryegate boy his wish this weekend.

Stoweflake partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Vermont to treat Caleb Nelson and his family to a day at the annual festival in Stowe, an overnight stay at the resort and a hot air balloon ride.

The event kicks off at 4 p.m. Friday and lasts until Sunday morning. More than 25 balloons will launch daily and tethered rides are available for $10 per person. The event includes live music and a beer and wine garden.
