SALEM, N.Y. (AP) - A sixth person has died as the result of a blast that demolished a two-story house in rural upstate New York.
State police said Thursday that 20-year-old Darrell Durham died in the burn unit of Westchester Medical Center, where he had been treated since the explosion July 13 in Salem, just 8 miles west of Rupert, Vt. Five other people were injured in the blast.
Durham's 2-month-old daughter, Niyah Durham, was among those killed in the explosion. The infant's mother, Alicia Berg, is listed in critical condition at Albany Medical Center.
State police said they're still investigating what caused the house to explode. Neighbors and police said a propane gas leak may have sparked the blast.
