Vt. woman wins spot on elite military team

Colchester, Vermont - July 25, 2011

A Vermont woman is heading overseas to compete in an elite military competition.

Airman Ziven Drake of the Vermont Air National Guard has been selected as one of six U.S. military members to compete in the NATO military competition in Warsaw, Poland, this week. She is the sole female member on Team USA, joining over 250 athletes from 23 NATO countries.

The event tests each soldier's physical fitness, teamwork, land navigation, marksmanship, combat first aid, and Law of Armed Conflict.
