Vermont State police say they are investigating a suspicious death in Dummerston.
At 11 a.m. police were called about a possible body spotted by a driver on the side of East West Road in Dummerston. The body was discovered on a remote part of the road about 20 yards from the shoulder.
The victim has not been ID'd yet, but she is described as a white woman in her 30s to 40s.
Police are calling this a suspicious death and they are leaning toward a homicide. VSP Commander Ed Ledo says they've yet to determine a specific cause or manner of death. The body was transported to Burlington and is awaiting autopsy from the medical examiner. Results are expected Saturday, mid to late afternoon.
Police say there's no specific information to suggest that people in the Dummerston community are at any risk.
