St. Johnsbury, Vermont - August 21, 2011

The search for a missing St. Johnsbury woman is over.

St. Johnsbury Police spent the weekend searching for 39-year old Kenlyn Castellanos. She was reported missing by her husband Friday night.

"She has family in the Walden area. He is from Mexico. All his family is down there -- no real friends we know of in the area," said St. Johnsbury Police Sgt. Stephen Bunnell.

Castellanos was last seen Friday night around 9 p.m. in the quiet neighborhood on Caledonia Street where she lived with her husband in a second floor apartment.

"She allegedly went out to walk the dog -- went out, walked down the street. He had a headache decided to take a nap. Woke up 45 minutes later, noticed she was not home. He went out looking for her, couldn't find her and notified police," Sgt. Bunnell said.

Castellanos was not traveling alone. Police also say she was walking her dog -- a Jack Russell Terrier -- a brown and white dog with a blue leash.

It turns out the dog helped police find Castellanos. Sunday afternoon, acting on tip to police from the public, authorities found Castellanos walking her dog on Portland Street in St. Johnsbury. Police say she was taken to a nearby hospital for a medical check-up and based on their interview with her they do not suspect any foul play in her disappearance.

St. Johnsbury police say they may release more information after they investigate the case further.
