Tropical Storm Irene has left many towns with some huge bills to pay. Hundreds of local roads and bridges were damaged by the flooding. Those communities are eligible for public assistance from the federal government. But just like individuals seeking relief, town government must go through a process to apply for aid.
The Vermont Transportation Agency will hold a series of briefings around the state starting Friday to explain to local officials what they need to do to qualify for FEMA funding.

Friday, September 9, 2011: Rutland and Bennington Counties at Manchester Town Public Safety Facility Meeting Room, 6041 Main Street (VT Route 7A), Manchester Center, VT. Applicants traveling through Johnson should expect delays in the Village of Johnson due to road construction and plan accordingly.
