BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A 62-year-old Vermont man is facing more charges he took money from aspiring authors to publish their books and then not doing so is facing more charges.
Last week Peter Campbell-Copp of Manchester pleaded not guilty to two new felony charges.
Campbell-Copp is now facing 14 charges.
Campbell-Copp is charged with entering into deals with authors seeking to publish their books, taking money for the work, but then not following through on his end of the deal.
The Bennington Banner cites court documents saying Campbell-Copp accepted between $8,000 and $10,000 from authors to edit and print books, but he ignored authors' attempts to contact him to check on the progress of the books or provided little information when they did reach him.
Campbell-Copp denies any wrongdoing.
