Investigators now say the death of 11-year-old Celina Cass was a homicide.
The West Stewartstown, N.H., girl disappeared from her home in July. Her body was found in the Connecticut River a week later.
Thursday, officials announced the medical examiner has ruled Celina's death a homicide. N.H. Attorney General Michael Delaney said while the medical examiner determined the cause of Celina's death, it will not be made public at this time to protect the investigation into the case.
Earlier Thursday, Celina's mother and sister met with investigators for two hours. They declined to comment when they left the meeting.
A reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call New Hampshire State Police at 603-846-3333.
