CASTLETON, Vt. - Shane Brozowski's four yard touchdown pass to Adam Farmer with 15 seconds left propelled Costello to a 56-52 win over Anna Maria College Saturday. On fourth and goal, Brozowski took the snap from the shotgun, rolled to his right and fired a strike to Farmer for what proved to be the game-winner.
Brozowski set a Castleton record with seven touchdown passes. He nearly had another school record, but his 458 yards passing was just three yards short. The 3,640 fans on hand for Castleton's homecoming weekend were treated to an offensive display as the two teams combined for 1,144 total yards and 15 touchdowns on the afternoon.
It was the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) opener for both teams. Castleton has now won four-straight over the AMCATS, and are now 1-2 overall and 1-0 in ECFC play. The Spartans travel to SUNY-Maritime Saturday October, 1st.
