New Champlain Bridge wrapping up

West Addison, Vermont -- September 27, 2011

Crews are wrapping up construction on the new Champlain Bridge.

New York transportation officials say the bridge is set to open before the end of the year, although a firm date has not been set.

A lot of concrete work must first be finished, including sidewalks and paving approaches on the bridge.

The bridge was initially slated to open October 9, but the opening was delayed by spring flooding.
