Vermont health officials say there is a confirmed case of whooping cough.
They say an individual at the Williston Central School tested positive for pertussis.
It is a contagious disease known for its loud cough. It's spread by coughing. The disease can be severe in babies under 1 year old. It can be treated with antibiotics. And health officials suggest kids get a booster shot.
