NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Kris Sabourin's touchdown with 33 seconds left lifted Norwich to a 10-7 win over Gallaudet Saturday at Sabine Field. The Cadets trailed 7-0 with about 5 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
"The kids really believe in each other which is what you need in a game like this," Norwich Coach Mark Murnyack said. "We executed the plays we needed to down the stretch. This was a good win."
Long Ding got the scoring started for Norwich kicking a 30 yard field goal with 4:56 left on the clock. After the Cadets defense held its ground, the offense took over at their own 33 yard line. The eventual game winning drive was highlighted by an amazing catch by wide receiver Derius Silas after the ball was deflected by a Bison defender. Norwich remains perfect in the ECFC at 4-0, while handing the Bison their first conference loss of the season.
