BURLINGTON, Vt. - When the Vermont Men's Hockey Team opens up the regular season in Minnesota Saturday, Goalie Rob Madore will be starting his senior season.  Madore looked in mid season form over the weekend, making saves during the first period of the Cats exhibition game against the USA under 18 team.

Sophomore Alex Vazzano got the start in the second period of that game making 7 saves.  While Alex will one day have the starting job at UVM, his improved play along with the steadiness of the other back-up goalie, John Vazzano, can help Madore get better.

"We all work together and try to improve each other," Madore said.  "I don't need a whole lot of pushing, but you learn things from other guys that you can't really pick out."

Madore played in all 36 games last season finishing the year with a goals against average of 2.98 and a save percentage of .90.
