Burlington, Vermont -- October 18, 2011
Barry Snyder appeared on the Channel 3 Morning News to talk about "Sleepless in Burlington," a 24-hour student filmmaking competition.
The competition will showcase the efforts of teams of student filmmakers from four area colleges and universities: the University of Vermont, Middlebury College, St. Michael's College, and Burlington College.
Each team includes five students under the supervision of a faculty advisor. They are given a set of "elements," including some lines of dialogue, a Burlington location, items identified with the host city, that each team needs to incorporate in their script.
On Oct. 29, the teams will cast their films from a selection of local actors assembled for the purpose, and then they are given 24 hours to shoot, edit and deliver their films.
The completed films will be showcased as part of the closing event of the 2011 festival on Oct. 30 at the Palace 9 Cinema.
