There were plenty of cheers for a cheerleading coach and science teacher at Essex High School this week.
Maria Ung got a big surprise-- she won a Milken Family Foundation National Educator award, and with it, $25,000.
The awards are given out in an effort to reward and retain quality educators.
Ung was honored for making science attractive to female students.
