LEBANON, Nh. - Charles Hunnewell was grinning ear to ear Tuesday and for good reason. His former pitcher at Lebanon High School, Ben Cherington, was just named Red Sox General Manager.
"I knew he'd do something good when he left school," Hunnewell said. "He was such a smart young man."
Cherington pitched three years at the varsity level for the Raiders. His baseball career came to an end thanks to a shoulder injury during junior year at Amherst.
