New York man safe after getting lost in Adirondacks

Mount Marcy, New York -- October 26, 2011

A New York man is safe and sound after a close call in the Adirondacks.

Kevin Hagerty got lost Monday while hiking in the high peaks wilderness near Mount Marcy. He had his cell phone with him and called for help.

Authorities dispatched a helicopter to rescue the 36-year-old after realizing that he was suffering from hypothermia.

According to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, the Clifton Park man was flown to the Adirondack Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
