Wolcott man critically injured in accidental shooting

Albany, Vermont - October 30, 2011

A hunting accident in Albany Sunday afternoon.

According to police, a group of hunters were tracking a bear on the Urie Road.  As the bear crossed the road Conrad Masse of Albany fired two shots.  One hit the bear, the other hit a fellow hunter.  Police say 58-year-old Wayne Goff of Wolcott was shot in the abdomen by the .30-06 round.  

Goff was eventually air-lifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.  The incident is under investigation.
