Although they don't have the years of history behind them that matchups between Norwich, Middlebury and Plattsburgh do, in a short amount of time, the rivarly between the Norwich and Castleton men's hockey teams has turned into the most intense D-3 matchup in our region.
Both teams won on the other's home ice last season. This year, their first matchup Friday night at Kreitzburg could not be more anticipated. The Cadets come in 6-0, ranked first in the nation in the USCHO.com Top 15. Castleton is 9-0, and brings a number three ranking with it to Northfield as the Spartans continue in their quest as a regular member of the elite programs in Division Three.
