Artificial body parts may seem right out of a science fiction movie, but they can be just the thing to get a person suffering from debilitating arthritis or a damaging injury back into an active lifestyle. In the past 20 years, artificial joint technology has improved the longevity of those implants.
While they may not give us super powers yet, medical advances have made joint replacement a more common surgery. Dr. David Halsey is an orthopedic surgeon at the Fletcher Allen Orthopedic Specialty Center. He appeared on The :30 to tell us about rebuilding the human body. He even brought some parts with him.
