NORTHFIELD, Vt.-- Norwich Senior Defenseman Sarianne Lynn began her college career at Division One St. Lawrence. Following her freshman season, it was time for a change. Lynn ended up with a Cadets team building its program and looking for leaders.
"I definitely wanted to go play for a Division III school and be an impact player on a team," Lynn said.
Last year, Sarianne led all Division III defenseman in scoring and is second in scoring on the Norwich Defenseman all-time list. Sarianne's excellence on the ice is an equal match to her academic success. The senior biology major has hopes of becoming a nurse practitioner. She tutors other students in the science department and was recently honored as a nominee for the Rhodes Scholarship.
"Her academics are first and foremost," says Norwich Head coach Mark Bolding. "She's unbelievable on the ice and she's even better off the ice. I think its great for the young kids to see how the two, academics and athletics, go together."
