He stole her heart and her ring. He'll be charged for the latter.
Burlington resident Ryan Jarvis, 25, allegedly spent an hour Monday picking out an engagement ring for his girlfriend. She said yes, but now he's behind bars because he didn't pay for it.
Burlington Police Officer Jesse Stewart said, "We followed up on these tips, included pictures and we met with the female as well as her boyfriend, and we spoke with both of them, and he had confessed."
Police say the girlfriend didn't know the ring was stolen. Jarvis was held for lack of $10,000 bail. He faces felony retail theft charges Wednesday.
