One of the big issues facing the state is what to do next with the state office complex.
The existing Waterbury facility was heavily damaged by Irene—forcing 1,500 state workers to relocate to temporary work spaces across the state. Lawmakers and the governor are looking into whether to renovate the building or to build somewhere else.
Mark Mitchell is the new Executive Director of the Vermont State Employees Association. He appeared on The :30 to talk about that and other issues facing state workers.
