CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire man who lived in the same apartment with an 11-year-old Stewartstown girl who was found dead in the Connecticut River is in custody on charges unrelated to her killing.
Coos County House of Corrections Superintendent Craig Hamelin says 23-year-old Kevin Mullaney has been held at the jail since Jan. 10, with bail set at $31,000.
Hamelin says Mullaney is charged with receiving stolen property, breach of bail, possession of a firearm by a felon and forgery.
Mullaney shared an apartment with Celina Cass and her family at the time Celina disappeared from her home July 25. Celina's death has been declared a homicide but no arrests have been made.
Senior Assistant Attorney General Jane Young says the investigation remains as active. She would not comment on Mullaney.
