Charges filed against driver that killed teacher

Woodstock, Vermont - January 23, 2012

Authorities have filed charges in connection with a crash that claimed the life of a well-known teacher in Woodstock.

Seventy-one year-old Hasse Halley spent a decade teaching at Woodstock Union High School, but also taught in Essex, Cabot and Johnson at different points in her long career.

The mother of five was hit by a truck while walking her dog on Route 4 in Woodstock last October. Police have now cited 71-year-old Richmond Maxham of Bridgewater into court for negligent operation.
