Police arrest third suspect in Rutland home invasion

Rutland, Vermont -- January 25, 2012

Police have made a third arrest in connection with a violent home invasion in Rutland over the weekend.

Police arrested Shane Haven, 20, of Rutland, on charges of burglary and unlawful restraint.

Two of the men charged in the break-in are from New York City; Alexander Jiminez, 26, and Daniel Martinez-Pineda, 32. They were arraigned in Rutland court Tuesday on felony charges for breaking into an apartment on Cleveland Avenue armed with golf clubs and knives.

According to court papers, they stole a TV, gaming console and prescription pills and then tied the victims up.

Authorities suspect the three were looking for drugs.

Shane Haven will be arraigned in court Wednesday. He was held on $150,000 bail.
