Vt.'s Burlington College seeks new president

Posted: Updated:

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Vermont's Burlington College has begun a nationwide search for a new president.

The new president will replace Jane Sanders, who stepped down last fall after seven years on the job.

Trustee Chairman Adam Dantzscher says hiring a new president is "a golden opportunity to shape the college's future and to optimize the potential offered by our beautiful new campus on the lake."

The Burlington Free Press says the job description for the next president calls for an experienced leader who embraces the college's mission and non-traditional educational philosophy.

Burlington College was founded in 1972. The school now enrolls about 200 students. The college now occupies the 32-acre property on North Avenue formerly occupied by the offices of Vermont's Roman Catholic diocese.
