MONTPELIER, Vt. -
Entergy won its legal fight over
Vermont Yankee, now the company wants the state to cover its legal fees.
A motion filed in federal court Friday
seeks $4.6 million to cover the army of lawyers that Entergy employed in its
lawsuit against the state.
Last month, a federal judge ruled the
Legislature had overstepped its authority in trying to close the nuclear plant
over concerns about safety.
This is the third major federal court
loss for the state in recent years. Last year, the state was ordered to pay $1.8
million in legal fees for a faulty datamining law. And in 2007, the state was
forced to pay over $1 million for the fight over its campaign finance law.
