BURLINGTON, Vt. -
Some Vermont lawmakers want to put a three-year moratorium on hydraulic fracturing, which is commonly known as "fracking." That's when water and chemicals are injected into the ground to fracture rocks and release trapped natural gas. The practice isn't here yet, but it's already stirring debate.
