In the second day of competition at the University of Vermont Carnival, the Dartmouth men's and women's Nordic teams both won their respective Classic races while the alpine teams came through with top three finishes to help the Big Green take a commanding 116.5-point lead with just the freestyle cross country races remaining on the schedule.
Dartmouth Senior Sophie Caldwell was the lone individual winner for Dartmouth on the day, completing the 5K Classic more than seven seconds ahead of Vermont's Caitlin Patterson in 15:48.0. Sophomore Annie Hart was right on Patterson's heels, placing third just seven-tenths of a second back with a time of 15:56.1.
In the Men's Slalom, rookie Ben Morse, who won the giant slalom yesterday, came in second today behind Middlebury's Hig Roberts with a time of 1:44.43 for his two runs. In the Women's Slalom, South Burlington native Annie Rendall placed 5th.
