WILLISTON, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Technical College will offer a 4-year bachelor of science program in aviation.
The Times Argus of Barre-Montpelier says the college has received approval for the program, professional pilot technology, from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Applications for the fall semester are being accepted.
The college says retirements in the aviation industry are expected to surge during the next decade and the demand for pilots, engineers, technicians and information specialists is expected to be high.
Graduates of the Vermont program will be eligible for direct access to jobs and internships at airports and Federal Aviation Administration facilities.
